The Böhler Thermanit GE-316LSi 0.8MM Stainless MIG Wire (ER316LSi) is a high-performance austenitic stainless steel wire electrode engineered for superior corrosion resistance, weld appearance, and mechanical strength. Designed for joining and surfacing applications, it provides consistent, spatter-free welds across a wide range of stainless steel fabrication and repair tasks.
This low-carbon stainless filler wire offers excellent resistance to intergranular and wet corrosion up to 400°C (752°F) and remains nonscaling and heat-resistant up to 800°C (1472°F). It is particularly well-suited for welding matching or similar non-stabilised austenitic Cr-Ni(N) and Cr-Ni-Mo(N) steels, as well as related cast grades.
The enhanced silicon (Si) content improves arc stability, wetting action, and bead formation, resulting in smooth, visually clean welds with minimal spatter. Additionally, it performs reliably in low-temperature service down to –196°C (–320°F), making it ideal for industries that demand both corrosion and temperature resistance.
